I put mine i a big glass of water, when they are all defrosted I gently pour as much of the water away. The food will stay at the bottom of the glass. But I dont rinse under running water.

Just a quick update. Still only one SM-100, still no skimmer!
Everything is working nicely, SPS are growing like mad. I'm working on a small vid to upload.
I'm using Meanwell drivers.
Do you have a picture of the whole tank?
Well, you can check it out here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showt ... 088&page=2
Info is kind of sparse, so just fire away if you have any questions.
Very nice!
Have you thought about using the slightly larger (three leds wide) 100W version? I think it would fit better? Or would that be overkill?
I have two tanks and I have been using Ozone with a Scrubber on each of them for more than 6 months. No problem at all.
Yeah, a powerhead in the sump works great for me. Keeps food particles from setting on the sump floor and start rotting. And also it's the perfect Ozone reactor using the using the air attachement on...
Three months straight with only ATS. Works perfect!
I just cleaned my SM-100 and the 3D growth I'm getting is extreme. Looks like someone has left a lot of big dreadlocks inside :)

Actually I'm from Sweden, but we get a lot of stuff to our stores from Dejong :)
I think you should start a thread on your forum. I did so on the biggest swedish reef-forum, I made a summary as a...
I do have a thread on RC about this tank, but I have gotten very few comments on it. After the ATS was introduced almost no comments.. :)
I think it's called Acropora valida (don't know about the monster part) and I bought it from Dejong (famed for their corals) in Holland (through a Swedish store called BIOTED Marine). It's deep...
Wow! Thanks for all the nice comments! :)

I just wanted to show my Elos 120 with an SM-100 ATS. The tank is 340 liters. The lights are DIY 280W LED + 2x54W t5 Actinic.
I have had the tank for 14 months. The ATS has been running since...
Now I have been running my tank with only an ATS for two months straight. So I guess I can say that the transition from Skimmer/Biopellets is done and that it's been a success! :)
Thanks a lot!
I'm starting to be really happy with the progression of the tank. ATS FTW! :)
I'm using a Nikon D7000.

In a few days I have had only an ATS as N&P export on this thank for five weeks. No skimmer or anything else. :) So far so good!
Other than that I have changed my 2x150W MH lights for a 300W...
NO gumdrop gobies then! :)
ah.. I couldn't wait so I added some more frags. Two more Acros, one Pocillophora and two Montiporas. All look healthy! :)
Last thursday I put my first SPS (other than a few test frags in the begining) into the tank. One red, one blue and one yellow A. Millepora. It took about 1 hour before polyps were fully extended. If...
Three weeks in with only an ATS. Corals are thriving.
Two weeks in with only a SM-100 as "filtration". No skimmer, no biopellets or anything else. And.. everything looks really healthy. I have gotten a slight increase in algae growth on glass i DT. I...
Have built an acrilyc box for the media, the lights are now closer.
I bought mine from the UK (I live in Sweden). And the postage was about 5 dollars. http://www.minervacraftsandfabrics.co.uk/

I'm guessing (by the beer can) that you are from Norway. :) If that's correct I'm guessing that steni plate is made for covering base/plinths of houses (www.steni.no). If so, I'm pretty sure it's...
72 hours in. My Pavona decussatus which I have had for at least 6 months is extending it's polyps in a way I have never seen before! :)
The corded endcaps are part of a ballast system from Hagen. It's called Hagen Glomat t5 2x24w.

OK, I'll look into it, right now the bulbs in the middle have about 7 cms to the screen. The outside ones have about 4 cm to each screen.
Time will tell friends :)
48 hours in without skimmer and 24 hours without BP. A slightly green tint of algae on the back pane of the DT. Nothing else has changed. Well, a lot more particles in the water, but that's good I...
Ok, rebuilt scrubber into V 3.0. :)
I have seen some versions with two parallel tubes/medias so i redesigned my scrubber into one, although it's still an open one. I also changed out the CFL...
24 hours in. The 02 levels dropped too much for my liking. Out with the BP:s then.. In one hour the O2 level was back up to it's normal high. Right now the redox potential is 411 mV.
So now. I...
I have been running this as a stable system for a year, with biopellets and a skimmer. But since I have had on and off problems with cyano I decided to install an ATS. I kept the skimmer running (as...
Another two weeks and I have now removed my skimmer since all, and I do mean ALL algae in DT is gone. The system is now ultra low in nutrients and I think the corals show that. Since I'm not going to...
What size of particles are we talking here?
Plankton like 1-2 µm in size will end up in the skimmer cup. But DOC will not (other than the 30% ofc). Is that what you are saying?
So I'm right in...
I am fully aware that skimmers do not remove all particles - hence the quotation marks around the word all.. But I did not realize that it was as low as 30%. But SM what do you mean by your earlier...
I understand, and we'll see what happens in the future. Currently I have both Mandarins (has been with me for a year) and a group of Pseudanthias Squamipinnis (six months) and they all seem to...
Well, I'm not going to start a "skimmer v.s scrubber" debate, but.. I beg to differ (just a little bit).
I do understand that bubbles will attach to all organic particles in all skimmers (I mean...

I have updated the lighting. When i bought the lamps I got CFL:s with 4100k included and already installed into the lamp so I let them run for a while. Yesterday I changed all of them to 2700k...
AMAZING!!!!!
It took five weeks. All of the cyano in previous pics = GONE! :D
I will post pics as soon as I can manage. I am a very happy camper right now!!
The flow problem is probalby related to the slot cut in the tube. Sometimes this can happen if it's not a 100% straight or differs in size along the line of the cut. You can try to alter the angle of...
