    A 1 watt or a 3 watt or even for that matter a 5 watt led could all be the same led.
    It is all a function of the power you put to the led.
    You generally want to go with less led that can handle...

    Rygh,

    You could add this fact also to the benefits of LED lighting. (especially for cool water tanks)

    LED produce little to no infrared light hence they don't heat up the water going past...
