Re: Automatic Continuous Feeder - DIY

    Very interesting.
A daily feeding dosage (mine's about 10 ml/day), mixed with prepared water to bring up to 24ml, then chilled (per your idea) and pumped throughout the day would work in my opinion....

Hi, I could use some help with noise.

My scrubber is making a lot of noise. I just got the flow up to the right speed, but it is now making a lot of noise. My tank is in the living room, and now...

Re: help-super slow starting new scrubber

    So here's an update.

My flow has become pretty steady. I'm flowing at about 300 gal/hr.

My algae growth has also improved. That horizontal line is still the center of growth (very strange). ...

Re: help-super slow starting new scrubber

    Thanks. Will be done asap.

On a positive note, the whole screen is covering up now, and the lights are lower and more focused directly onto the screen.

Re: Automatic Continuous Feeder - DIY

Side note, if you don't mind.

You seem to know what food it takes to keep goniaporas alive (Phyto & Roti).

Is this experience or a new studdy? I've lost 2 of them over the last year. Nothing...

Re: Automatic Continuous Feeder - DIY

    Hi SantaMonica,

I love this idea! I've been looking for this type of system. The major problem is the cost of the autofeeder. The cheepest I found it is $1,1000.

Now I know this type of...

Re: help-super slow starting new scrubber

Re: help-super slow starting new scrubber

    So I was right.
I timed it and my flowrate is 200 gph. I raised the pump speed and water lever a little (variable speed pump) so I now estimating around a 220-230 gph rate, but lets stick with...

Re: help-super slow starting new scrubber

I'll get a shot of the flow as soon as I get home.

The bottom 4 inches or so of the screen is in the water. The remaining 10-12 inches stays above the water. The algae line is right in the...

Re: help-super slow starting new scrubber

    Thanks for all the advice.

I have the reflectors off during the day. I turn them off around 9 am and put them back on around 6 pm. Off too long?

I do need to put them on a timer though. ...

The screen hasn't been turned around. This is how it's been since the start. I agree that the neat line straight across the middle is strange looking. You can't see it in the photo but there is...
