If it is easy to build you can try one but I think It would be very diffucult to built/maintain. I see more potencial to changing bubble size but I´m not an expert.

    Yes, 4 sq. inches is 5.3 x 5.3cm.

Ok, I´ll keep the spacing as it seems algae gets used to strong light. Maybe I´ll need to separate them a bit since I don´t use a difusser.

    Thanks

Last saturday I replaced Light with 9 3W 660 nm LEDs and I added a small amount of algae next to the screen. The algae couldntt stay attached to the small rock because of the bubbles hiting them.

    UAS not growing

I´m planning to give LEDs a try.
    Looking for 3W 660nm LEDs on ebay I´ve found that 660nm may mean 650-660nm, 660-670nm or 655-660nm.

In the clorophyll graph is seems that 660-670nm will be...

Re: Scrubber + Skimmer in a FOWLR?

Thanks, I´ll reduce hours but with the full setup.

I thought I read that less hours implies growth of brown algae instead of green in the ATS.

Re: Scrubber + Skimmer in a FOWLR?

Yes, it is a good idea to prepare it for 100 gal to be prepared.

Would you use lights less hours a day or would you use lights just in one side? (the other side in case it is needed)

Re: Scrubber + Skimmer in a FOWLR?

Yes, I was thinking in 85 W setup counting the full 85 Gallons. I´m curious if I can reduce the Watts and square inch since I also have a good skimmer that should "procesate" excess food.
