Do you know that turbulence (assuming more oxygen) helps algae grow faster? If you designed a horizontal pan say 1/2" deep with slow moving water and lights above, would it grow algae just as fast?

Thank you. I understand now.
Still confused??? When the bulb is a 23 watt but says it is a 90 watt equivalent. For growing algae, is it considered a 23 watt or a 90 watt?
I am still confused??? I am setting up a 30 gallon and do not want to overkill the scrubber (or under do) light. How could it be either?
Just bought some lights for a new scrubber at Home Depot. 23 Watt, 2700k, CFL floodlights. However it says they are 90 Watt equivalent. Would you count them as 23 watt or 90 watt?
The above quote came from Oct, 16,2008 in this forum. Can you expand on this? Can you start a brand new tank with a new algae scrubber and bypass the cycling stage? I am working with fresh water...
I was asking more about the design of connecting the water pipe to make it easy to connect and disconnect.
How does everyone deal with removing your scrubber pad to clean without making a mess?
