What color is that algae? are you sure it is not Cyanobacteria?
That was Hydrophyte's idea, an active member on different freshwater tank forums. this is his blog: http://hydrophytesblog.com/
That is right, not only that, even my water parameters are fine all the time that I stoped testing the water.I took that tank down ( Don't have much space at the apartment) and got another reef tank...
The blooming and FTS, several plants added and removed as the time goes due to some house plants are not suitble for a Riparium.
Here is some pictures of the freshwater tank.
I'v kept freshwater and brackish water planted tanks, and used 2 diferent plants growing in/outside of the water, my nitrate always 0ppm, there no single spot of algae in the walls, eventhough I feed...
Great job, looks like the last reading of nitrate is 10 ppm not 20 ppm.

Interesting, I wish I can help but I don't even have a scrubber yet. Just want to add that adding a fan could be supplying both O2 and CO2 that the algae needs depends on the lighting cycle. this...
I have slow water movement in the refugium that leads to Cyano growth, do you think that is going to affect the display tank in the long term, I am asking because I read somewhere that Cyano produce...
Thanks for the explanation. is this the same case with freshwater habitat? I mean the increase of microbial growth.
How does excess algae growth cause the decline of coral reefs? is it by growing so dense that they prevent the light to reach carals?
I think the cause is the pollution that either affect the algae...
Thanks for the reply, I just started a new reef tank, I will try to set up a small ATS because of the limited space.
Hi, new to the forum and I have some questions.
What are all the stuff that ATS can absorb from the water? is toxic metals included like copper for example? and also I want to know what exports...
