Will you sell a version without lights if we already have the gem lights?
So a herbie style drain to reduce noise?
I like the name :)
had to take a couple weeks off from algae scrubbing due to a tank move. I moved into my 150 from my 75. Also had to build a new scrubber to fit better. Basically took my old screen and cut it in half...
Cool, I subscribed to get email alerts on this forum so hopefully I can catch the beta.
Awesome. Will this be an enclosed type with drain pipes?
Any progress with this? Will you have beta testers?
great idea. Can you share more pictures of your scrubber?
It needs to be silent. Anyone have designs out there for a silent or near silent waterfall scrubber?
they are really really red. Really bright. If I look at my scrubber at night it takes a second for me to regain vision when I look away, and that's just the light reflecting off the screen.
Here's five days of growth. First time growing from a cleaned screen with the LEDs. I think I need to cut down the hours a little bit. Appears to be growing best well outside of the focus of the...
Probably, what kind of par are you looking for with an algae scrubber? I never measured the PAR coming from the 100watt CFL I was using before this.
I cleaned my screen yesterday so I should have...
Getting roughly 250-275 par at the screen with this placement.
Originally had them mounted directly on the acrylic shield but started seeing yellowing after the first night of the lights on as seen in this picture:

Then I...
I'll give that a shot!
Do you recommend reducing lighting hours when coming from CFL? I think I'm already seeing yellow lines directly under the LEDs after the first night.
Gottem. Great looking product so far.
Do you want PAR numbers? If so, at what distances would you like?
Anxiously awaiting. Have you determined a range of mounting distance from the screen?
Never mind, found th thread below this one!
Sent my order. Do you have any pictures of these lights?
I'm curious if you've seen any benefit in switching to a 4 on 4 off type of schedule after cleaning a screen until the algae builds up again.
Thoughts?
I'd love to try the lights and would be GLAD to post updates! Here's my waterfall scrubber (front reflector removed for picture): 6562
18 days in screen. First picture is the front (roughed) side. Second is the rear (not roughed). Lit from both sides with CFL. I'm currently running 20 hours on, 4 hours off. Funny thing is the...
Turns out my screen is actually more like 7.5 inches by 6 inches and I'm feeding roughly 2 cubes a day.
I have phosphate at 0.02ppm (Hanna) and nitrate at 0.25ppm (Red Sea), but I'm battling green turf algae in the tank which is what seems to be giving me such low levels.
Also, the light is removed for the picture, but I am running two CFLs on this (one on each side). The main CFL that you can't see is a 40 ACTUAL watt 2700K bulb, the one in back is more like 10...
Hi there, this is my two week old screen. I've only been very lightly swishing it in used saltwater to clean. I was running 4 hours on 4 hours off lighting schedule but I just switch to 18 hours on 6...
Thinking about switching my 40 watt (actual) CFL over to two of these (one on each side) for a 5x5 screen.
