Here you can see the bulbs sit about 5" from the screen on either side.

Would love any feedback or suggestions. If any one wants to see some pics of the build I have some just ask!!

I like the duct tape. Are you using it as a splash guard or to even the flow out across the screen? I ask because I need to do something to even the flow out across my screen.

Here's something that you both might be interested in:

it's a sheet of plastic from a local hobby store, it cost $1.99 and it's perfect for this application. I ended up not using it because I'm running an enclosed box, but it would work great in place of the duct tape. But I like the ingenuity - zip ties through it and all, that's great! Just cut this plastic in a strip and punch holes in it and it will do the trick.

Bucks, my idea behind the duct tape was as a splash guard but also to try and reduce algae growing near the PVC outlet so it won't clog.

Hey I was wondering if this is strong enough to help direct the flow of water??

I think that would depend on how you attached it. The material is quite stiff. If you've ever used one of those cheap 3-ring binders with the plastic covers that are flexible but not stiff, that is the same stuff. It's about 1/32" thick. Also you could compare it to x-ray paper, except about 5-10 times thicker (and therefore stiffer)
