    Initial "break-in" photoperiod

    Hello all,
I just fired mine up a day ago and have nothing growing on the screen yet at all. I'm using an 18 hour photoperiod and I do understand the need for the darkness period. Is there any benefit though to leaving the lights on 24 hours until I begin to see some initial growth on the screen?
    Thanks.

no, the algae needs to have downtime just like anything else. 24 hrs of lighting would have a negative effect.
