My main tank lights are on from 1pm - 10pm with actinic from 9.30pm - 12.00am. Up until this weekend, my scrubber lights have been turning off at 9am and turning on again at 3pm, giving the whole tank and sump 4 hours with no lighting (except daylight). I have acquired a new scrubber this weekend and I thought of changing the changing the scrubber light cycle. The scrubber lights now go off at 2.30pm and turn on again at 8.30pm. My theory is that the scrubber is competing against the halide while it is on, so will be working much better when no other lighting is on in the tank (does this make sense?). Am I right in my thinking or am I better with the original timings?

Thanks

Mark
