light distance from screen

Hello!

I am building a nano scrubber, and i have som questions about light distance from screen.

I am building the scrubber inside a box and i have two options to place the light bulb:

Option 1: Place the light bulb outside the box, the distance to the screen will then be about 9 centimeters. For this option i planning on using a 20W bulb.
Option 2: I also have the posibility to build the scrubber with the light inside the box. The scrubber will then take mutch smaller space above the aquarium, but the bulb wil then be only 2,5 - 3,5 centimeters from the screen. And it is then only room for 11W bulbs beacuse they are mutch thinner, but i can fit in two bulbs side by side. Will 11W bulb be enough for algae to grow when paced wery close to the screen?

The scrubber is one sided so the bulb will have reflectors. Screen size is very small, about 15x10 centimeter.

Any thougts about this?

i have a question too, i have 25 W bulbs, with 36 square inches, what would be the correct distance from the screen?

11 watts is not bad for that small screen. at 2.5 cm.

25 watts for a 35 sq in screen, at 4 inches, should be ok.
