    Food Particle in tank?

    Hello All,

I'm happy to report that I have some very nice success so far using ATS as a mean of filtration for my 90G reef tank. So far, the reef is doing good. Of course, there always room for improvement.

No algae problem at all in DT. Water is very clear also. When I am able to get my hand on a nice camera, I will post progress pics.

Question: I have food particle or whatever it is flooding in the tank. Tina white dots of stuffs. Anything you can do to get rid of these? They look like white dust. That's the best way for me to describe it.

Do you want to remove the coral food from the water?

Im course not. DO you have alot of them floating in your tank? My concern is that I'm not sure what it is to be honest. So far, they don't bother the fish or the coral.

I'll see if I can take some pics so you guys can see what I"m referring to.

That is likely baby copepods or other food particles that are natural and good for the system. It's what a skimmer and filter sock system take out.

    See the particles here:

Anything you can see floating in the water, and a lot that is too small to see, is food for corals.

I have some amazing progress pictures. I took them all with my iphone which sucks really. I'll edit and post some pictures tonight.

My current reef is mainly a learning/experminetal setup. I'm loving the simplicity of an ATS system.

Saving for a 48X35X20 setup with one Large ATS.

I did noticed that my blue chromis are eating the stuffs coming out from the sump. Took 2 months for my ATS to grow all green and thick.
