Hey folks, been reading up on this for quite some time finally got around to building most of it, anyhoot just going through some test phases right now but was ended abruptly when I couldn't figure out how to pump the water out of the tank and back into the tank. My setup was homer depot bucket, penn plax divider, some various pvc pipes and an Eheim pump. So I'am under the assumption that I will need an overflow box?


I have a UV sterilzer as well , will I still get algae?.... This is going to be the most overkill filtered cichlid tank in Florida. My setup Eheim 2217&2234 but figured I could use a algae scrubber to keep the bad stuff down and have healthy fish , whenever I get around to getting some

Is this to go on top of the tank? Do you have a sump currently?

On the UV...you should still get algae growth. My buddie has a uv on his fresh tank and the algae drives him nuts. I can't get him to try a scrubber. Oh well his loss.
