Are you using a add on lens? I got the 90 and 120 degree lens's and set them about 1.5" away and burned the algae clean off the area the lens focused at, it turned it back white??!! How far do you have yours away from the screen? I thought I might try them at 3-4" with the lens's attached. Any on have any experience in using lens's?

Shouldn't need any lenses. You want to spread the light out as much as possible. Lenses are for driving the light deeper into the tank for a display tank fixture.

I dont use any lens. Leds are at 2 inches. Dont thing its optimal distance, but there is no more space unfortunately. 3W leds would not work in this situation for sure.

I am using 3W LED's. Any clue on the distance for those? At the time of purchase I was unsure of the distance I was going to have with this build so I ordered lens's to cover my @ss.

You will probably need a kind of diffusser for 3 watt'ers instead of lenses. Lenses are good at shooting long.
I always try to use more smaller led's instead of few powerfull whenever I need smooth coverage.
