Worth setting it up scrubber with miracle mud

Hi guys new to forum but kept marines for a long time , I recently set up a miracle mud filtered tank as my main filter I don't used any skimmers etc the mud filter has been set up for about 6 weeks now but tank is 3 years old , I have a problem with phosphate it showing around the 1 mg litre mark and I have lost my acros to bleaching , the tank is 4 x 4 x2 holds around 150 gallon would it be worth my time setting up a scrubber and phasing out the mud filter or should I keep the miracle mud as it's suppos to leach nutrient and iron into the water to help alge growth ? Thank

Why not build it, run them together and see how you get on.

Can't see why you would need to remove the mud, although I think miracle is a slight exaggeration! I am sure it does release nutrients but the main benefit I would have thought would have been it's denitrification ability, the low levels of oxygen in the lower part of the mud would be perfect for this, and because the mud is so fine this occurs at much lower depths than a traditional sand bed.
Could explain why you have a phosphate and not a nitrate issue.
A scrubber would do this on it's own but I do not see any reason why they could not work together.
