    Cleaning question

Rather than strip all the algae from both sides of a screen every 7 days would it not be better to clean each side on alternate weeks so the algae is not all stripped off at once ? And effect the filtering power ?

It's easier to cut the screen in half vertically, and clean one of them every 5 days.

If you can do it, this is the best way. It's just a pain to clean 2x a week for most. Unless you have having a nutrient spike that is affecting fish/corals after cleaning, it's really not necessary.

In my experience, the scrubber is so powerful that even a freshly cleaned screen will keep nutrients down to nothing. Some of my corals do better right after I clean the screen (LPS and softies like dirtier water)

If you're running super-heavy SPS and feeding liquid coral food, then cleaning one side every 3-4 days is probably not a bad idea.
