    225 Gallon Scrubber

I got a new tank and want to do an ATS on it. Would it be supplemental or do you think it can sustain itself?

    Any scrubber can sustain itself.

Note that santa has now revised his guidelines to feeding levels and not the number of gallons. This is reasonable given different stocking levels.
Each 1cm cube of food requires 12sq in of scrubber size and 12w total light if lit from both sides, or another way of saying it 1/2w light per LIT sqin of screen.
So it boils down to how much you are going to feed.

Yes that's what I meant. Any tank, any feeding. Just make the scrubber strong enough.

You mean 1/2W per side. You still need a total of 1W per square inch. Just wanted to make sure that was clear to anyone else reading.

Yes that's what I meant, 1/2w for every square inch you light. So for a 4x3 inch screen the total area if lit on both sides is 24sq inches, and requires 12w. If you lit from only one side you would need a screen say 6x4 to give the same filtering.
