I have been struggling just to get a little green LOL!!! I get tons of green on the freshwater scrubber but very dark green to brown on the SW.

My 40G has been up since the weekend before Fathers day, the 10G has been up about a year. Both of them have zero-ish nutrient levels, the 10G is a Horizontal LED scrubber that on grows dark green thick algae.

Maybe it is your light? What kind of LEDs do you have in there?
On the 40G I use the CFL type, I have a 9x6 screen vertically hung, lighted on both sides. I had both sides with a 33W and I have updated one side to 44W and upgraded my pump to get more flow.

Maybe you just have to keep running and cleaning, especially if you are getting that dark algae. That type never lets light in.

Yeah it seems to get a little ( and I do mean a little!!) lighter every time i clean it.
