    first cleaning

    here is a couple of pics just before the 1st clean, is it looking like it is ment to??





    and i have found this to try as a new mat insted of the plate

    Well it's certainly time to clean, so go ahead. However it's not what we want, because:

    1. Those circles you on the screen are the pods eating the algae, thus causing nutrients to go back into the water. The pods are doing this because you waited more than 7 days for the cleaning. Keep the cleaning from now on no longer than 7 days.

    2. The lighter colored area near the bulb is caused by either not turning the lights off each night for 6 hours, or, too low a flow. There should be yellowish area like that. Increase flow if you can, and make sure to turn the lights off for 6 hours.

    Otherwise, looks good!

    thanks for that, lights have been on 24/7 im now getting a timer for the lights.

    i have given it a clean but not much of the brown came off :? but looks alot different.

    You will be amazed by the growth increase by turning the lights off for a period at night!
