    Red Algae

What does it mean when I have some red slime algae growing on my screen? I'm thinking I need to change out the bulb?

I set the scrubber up a couple of months ago and I've been battling some tar looking like algae which I clean off every 3-4 days but now I'm getting some red algae growing on the screen.

Just my opinion, but it sounds like you still have very high nutrient levels in your tank from what your describing. Sounds like your doing everything right though, just keep cleaning it every 3-4 days like your doing until the "slime" phase completes.. once it does the green algae should finally start growing.

Doubling the wattage, for half the hours, would help.

If you can keep doing, do it.
