    Thats right! Let it grow and keep scrapping! Im in week 3 and now is when im seeing a small drop in N and P. I wont change this filter for anything!

    thats great to hear. this coming monday will be my third week and I am still not seeing anything in N and P. I would love to see pics of what your growth looks like and will post my pics to compare on monday. If you could do this it would be tremendously helpful to me. thanks

    WEEK 3 REVIEW:

    had to scrape my screen off. it was not looking at all like GHA. it was a very dark almost black gelly not like cyano (looked like it with running water) rather it had a gelly like skin coat and it smelled. all signs that something is NOT right. just wish someone could tell me what i'm doing wrong. pictures to follow.

    the gelatnous mess


    my setup 2x 36watt CF pink bulbs... not sure the K rating but I think its less than originally posted as 6500k. bulbs are within 2" of screen and flow is at least 35GPh if not a bit more. tested it to be sure correct flow. screen size is 13 x 8 tank is a 95 gallon main with a 20 gallon sump. someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong???????

    Clean the slot... is blocking flow.

    huh ??? is this whats causing the type of algae that I have growing??? when you look at my pictures SantaMonica... does it look ok? its definatly not GHA. Is this to be expected in the third week?
