DIY Enclosure for LED lighting on SM100

    Hi,
I want to put together some LED lighting for my sm100. These are built for the 24" Current extreme nova lights. 24" x 5" x2" or so. Does anyone know where I can find a similar size enclosure? I was looking for used lights, but I haven't found any yet that are worth the price.

I am using plastic eves trough (gutter) for mine from the home improvement store, I also got the end caps to make it look nice, and some black paint for it. I also found some "C" channel aluminum that is working out great for a LED heat sink.

Did you fit the gutter in between the two tabs on the side of the SM100? So I'm guessing you are actually using a gutter that normally go on the roof and take water to down spouts. I would think they would be too wide....of course i've never measured one. Do you have any pics of this?

I do not have a SM design, I did my own scrubber build. I am using the gutter for the roof drainage. No pics yet, still waiting on the LED's to come from Hong Kong!!! I mocked it up with the LED's and heat sink from my 10G LED scrubber. I do not think its wider then 5", I am at work so I cannot measure it but, they had a couple different widths at the store, I bought the lesser width.

I think you might need multiple units. I would design for 3 or 4 and maybe install one up close and personal. If it grows turf well you could then figure out what spacing is needed for more.
