    14 day ATS.

    Well guys, this is day 14, today i clean it again, im getting brown algae but im starting to see small spots of green..when should my nitrates start to go down? how do you see the screen? more light? ect..

    heres my setup:
    Tank:30g long with sump
    Light: (2) CFl 23W 2700Kv, 18h on 6h off
    Size: 8" x 12"
    Flow:300hph
    Nitrates: 20ppm

    Your flow is good if its 300 GPH at the height of the feed pipe. Your lights should be about 48 per side. They make larger CFL bulbs I just got a 44W and think they had a 50 something to.

    At least. And if you want to run them for only 9 hours, you can double that.

    However you need big deep wide reflectors, or else you'll burn the middle.
