The specs are probably baby snails. Then you are probably just getting algae attaching to them.
Look close and see if they are moving.
there's no movement and its solid white even if i let it go for a while, algae would be green right? its only growing on the glass i clean, the back is covered with coralline.
White stringy is usually a bacterial bloom. Next time run your fingers along it and get some and rub it between your fingers. If it is sticky it is usually bacteria, slimy is usually algae of some type. Brown stringy is usually dinoflagellates. Another thing that makes a white stringy mess is vermetid snails but you would have to have a severe infestation to cause what it shown in the pictures, and in all my years I have never heard of that happening so I doubt that is it.
