    Issues Help! Bubbles in sump

Well this is my first post and unfortunately it is for issues I'm having.
I spent a lot of time reading on here and went with the ATS for a brand new 90 setup.
As you can see on the pics I have issues...

I tried without the water catch but had a ton of micro bubbles, added this and now its acting like a skimmer tons of thick froth.
Plus my water is coming out sideways and heavy on the far end and not down, its coming out like this \\\\\\\ I am running a Iwaki 30 for my return at 4' of head and the thing should be putting out around 500GPH or less at that head, and I have it cut way back with a valve.

I tried widening my slot it made it worse.
SO Im gonna start from scratch and redo, what have I done wrong and what do I need to do to stop this?

And yes the shrimp in the sump is for the cycle ;P

Any advice would be a huge help!

Your flow down the screen will get better as the algae grows in so, maybe, the bubbles will not be as bad then.

Looks like you are cycling a new tank I guess? I did my 40G cycle with a scrubber and never even seen any spike at all!!! I was very impressed.

What is that pipe at the bottom? It's causing more bubbles. I don't think you need it.

The screen should go down into the water; bubbles will stay at the top, and your return pump should pull from the bottom where there are no bubbles. The more water in the sump, the less bubbles at the bottom. I don't think you have enough water in there; I'd add 3 or 4 more inches at least.

The slot should be 1/8. Flow will fill-in and even-out as growth occurs.

The pipe at the bottom was to stop the 100 bazillion micro bubbles it was producing with the screen in the water.
The screen is in about 1" of water at the bottom.
I will let it grow in and see what happens

    Remove the pipe.

Adjust things so that you have 3 to 4 inches of water.
