    Ultimate CFL rather than LED....

After reading, and reading, and reading, and reading about LED scrubbers I have decided to just keep using my CFL's . From what I could tell it was going to cost me about 300 bucks to build proper LED fixtures, and even then nobody seems to be 100% sure about the proper color of the LED's. I feel I can upgrade my CFL system for a fraction of the cost. I would like the hear from people who have found CFL lamps that grow algae like crazy,,and other mods to get just a little more out of my scrubber.

Fallow the instructions for the new sizing guide lines and you will be on par. The saran wrap works well to stop spray. And thick black plastic trash bag cuts outs work to stop growth in the slot when draped over the slotted feed pipe.

My led fixture cost me around $30 to make. I have it listed here. I have led on one side and cfl on the other. The led side blows the cfl by double the growth. I have 660 nm red and warm white. I'm currently building one for the other side but I'm using 420 instead of white.

+1 on cost, $300 is way over the top for what it should take. You could buy 2 e-shine 50W fixtures for than, with shipping, and have $ left over. Anymore with the feeding-based screen size, your fixture cost drops through the floor.
