I've been running the L2 UAS on a 40 breeder with a ton of LR, 3 angels, 1 big tang (police have been knocking), a small clown, and a pistol shrimp/goby pair for about a month now. In that time, feeding no more than about 1.5 to 2 cubes every other day, algae growth has been good on the scrubber, but nitrates and phosphates have spike dramatically. I just did a 15g PWC (which is about 50% of the actual water volume) and API nitrate still shows over 40ppm, probably closer to 60. Before the PWC it was off the scale red (>100, IMO). I didn't even bother to check P before the PWC because I didn't want to waste a reagent.

Had to pull some corals out into a QT 10g tank. One RTNd in a few days and the other started to.

Tested the water on the 40B w/UAS on it today. 10 days ago I did a 50% PWC and 5-7 days before that, another 50% PWC. Prior to that was when I tested N > 100

    Today:

    N 40+
    P 0.78 (Hanna)

Changes I made were continually clearing out the bubble bar to make sure it blows air (done every cleaning) and adding a TLF ball valve, which is wide open, so I am getting more flow through the box. Still doesn't make a difference. UAS can't keep up with feeding at half the rate it should be good for.

Meanwhile, the waterfall L2 that took the place of the UAS on the 120 has recovered from the blip (no filtration as ramping up from bare screen for 2 weeks caused N and P to rise quickly) and now it has driven N and P down to at or below the best-achieved levels that the UAS could get to on 3x the water volume.
