    Yeah I had thought of that, initially when I saw the brown streaks, but that's not always a slot tube issue, that can be growth. You do want to make sure your slot is at straight and as even as possible. Also don't cinch your zip ties down really hard. This can cause the slot to pinch in the center.

    This is just a wild guess but If you were not running a scrubber before and that is the same rock. Your rocks will slowly release the phosphates back to the tank. This is why sometimes cyano takes sooo long to go away . It makes its own nitrogen. Your scrubber is doing its job(hence no algae in the display anymore) by removing the nitrate wastes you may have had before. Now all that is left is the phosphates leaching from the rock. I have experienced this exact thing with rock used in a tank that had phosphate problems. Keep an eye on the location of the cyano growth. If it stays in the same place it is definately the rock . Nothing to do but wait it out.
