Hello!
Have anyone tried theese 10, 20 or 50W high power led for display lightning?

LEDs are taking over conventional lighting everyday. High-power LEDs are becoming more and more affordable. With high current that high power LEDs require, active constant current circuit is the only practical option. Also most of the LED drivers lack dimming function or poorly have dimmer functions.
jnad, I'm sure someone has tried them somewhere. You would need pretty good head sinks for those, I would think that your standard one from HeatSinkUSA or the like would not quite cut it without active cooling.
Here's a thread from our local club where the guy built a spectrum analyzer and checked a couple of those chips out.

I think one of the really nice tanks in the photos section of this site used those chips also.
What would be the consensus on the China 3w stars for less than a dollar each?
if you're using them for yourself? knock yourself out. If making fixtures for others? You're going to save a buck now and pay 2 later IMO.
I used the China 3w stars with good results for my display and scrubber
I have used more then a couple hundred china LED's and only had one 12,000K die and this one was a re-solder job while on the heat sink due to a wiring change I made to it. The LED got much hotter then I liked it to. I had a 150W gun on it for about 20 seconds. How is everyone else's luck with the china LED's. Have you had bad luck Floyd?

I had one SatisLED go out on me but that could have been my fault, not sure. The rest of the series string is still burning away though. Since Rapid got Philips 660s in I just feel better using those for $1.25/each more, the PCB boards themselves are better quality IMO. LEDs are probably comparable.
How many do you have to buy to get them at 1.25? I agree on building for others its best to use better stuff for sure. I have actually been very pleased with the china LED's for my personal stuff. I agree as well about the boards, the china ones can vary a bit in quality.
