    New set up

Hi SM, I've been introduced to this just recently.
I'm running a few systems & one of them I want to convert to AS.
This system is 120G tank & a sump.
I have recently had an outbreak that killed all my fish.
Just 1 fish has remained - Puffer.
I have removed the skimmer & all other filters as per recommendations on this forum.
Since I'm not feeding much, what is the net size that I should go with?
If I follow the old instructions, would it be wrong? (i.e. bigger net)

    Thank you very much

Sounds less than a half cube a day. 12 sq inches, 2-sided, 12 watts total.

    Thanks.
    That's 3x4,right?
What would happen (+/-) if I would use a larger screen?
You said 12wtotal.That means 6w on each side?
What would be if I use 23won each side?
would it be better, more efficient?

    Thank you

    3 x 4

Larger would only grow light brown, and would net get thick green.

    6w per side.

23w per side might work if you start at 9 hours and go up if needed. 9 hours would also allow the CFL bulbs to last 6 months.

Half a cube sounds like very little food for a 120G. Especially with a puffer (assuming porcupine, not toby). I think many people on here with that size tank end up with up 3 to 5 cubes a day.

    Thank you very much.
Can you recommend how to shield the PVC pipe so algae won't grow & block the holes?

    I hear you .
I like to feed well as well, BUT I've got the Toby which is very small & as I reported in my first post, I'm just coming out of a pandemic
that killed all my live stock.
I could not used any chemicals as I have corals & inverts in the system.
Do you know of any stuff that is effective & reef safe?
