    Pre-tinning LEDs

I made a few videos last night while I was pre-tinning about 80 or so LEDs for scrubbers. Thought someone might find this useful.

Great instructional Sir. It really helps to tin them first. I even tin the wire to. Nice work.

Yeah I've head that you "should" tin the wire also, but what I do is right before I hit the solder bubble with the iron, I touch the end of the wire to the iron for about 1/4 second and it usually wicks a little solder on to it, then I touch the bubble and slide the wire in, hold it for 1/2 second, then take the iron away. I'll probably do another video tonight showing that.

Nice vids Floyd. Makes it look very easy especially when the LED's come in blocks like that. A bit more difficult when they come as singles though.

Yea, I have always tinned them once they are on the heatsink, but I have a butane weller portasol I use so it works pretty well, I have thought several times that if I was using a normal soldering iron that there was no way I could have pulled it off. So it does make more sense to do it before you mount them, especially if you are using a little 15w-40w iron.
