    algae for rotifer's food..?

sorry guys, a bit out of topic..but i need help, so PLEASE help me find out.

Im going to culture rotifer, and they eat " microalgae " . and the company sell it in the bottle call " rotifer diet"

The "ROTIFER DIET" is a solid green water.

at the moment i have my ATS running bout almost 2 years, and its doing great ( thick green hair algae ), and also lots of pods inside the box.

Anyway, evertytime i clean the screen and when i rinsed it, i see " a light green color water " coming down...

    the question is:

Is it the same water they use in the "ROTIFER DIET"

because if its the same..it'll be great, so i dont hv to buy the "ROTIFER DIET" anymore

Thank you a lot for HELPing me

No it is not the same. It is water from inside the hair algae that has broken.

I don't know if rotifers will eat it.

They mean plankton. you can easily grow this yourself from any plankton food not containing glycerin. you do have to have the plankton food which is basically like fertilizer. Tons of threads online about this. Quite easy to do and very rewarding to be able to feed live food en mass.
