i would think that using sun power would have a different criteria from CFL bulbs. this is an experiment

If you are not getting direct sunlight, it makes me wonder if your scrubber would be effective at all. I had the chance to do the same and decided to go with bulbs as i wasnt going to get direct sunlight.

Should be ok, just needs fine tuning. I have another set up of 3 tanks
with nothing else but ats n ceramic ring ( which represents live rock)-
Corals growing n fishes healthy☺ but also needs trouble shooting. I
might start thread on that set up. It's got red algae

update - pic of my 3week old, 2nd screen. do note that this is sun-powered n single sided.Attachment 3486

    after washingAttachment 3487

My 1st ats (n still running) Attachment 3488

What happened is after ats1 was running for 7 months, i was still getting brown slime n algae. so i started ats2 hoping to 'catch' more sun to extract the N n P.

this time of the year, the sun is shying away. So i started a cfl 23w 2700k bulb on the back side of the screen ie, on the front side is sun powered, n on the other is this bulb.

The bulb was placed about 2inch from the screen. Looks like the algae got burnt??

If you use a bulb, the reflector must cover the whole screen.
