    Nano reef cube ATS

New member here, but have been reading for some time.

Looking to setup a 40*30*30 (L*W*H) tank with back sump and ATS integrated. Having read up the articles, I've settled on the following two designs but need some feedback from experienced members. Pump is to be Eheim compact 300, lighting to be HOB LED.

The first design would be gravity fed, which would't allow flow adjustment while the second would and reduced flow for the output. hmm...

Gravity is fine. Many people have built these.

I dont see a space for a return pump... If you put it under the screen you will have a ton of microbubbles.

No microbubbles here. I have baffles of course , but ATS chamber dont have micro bubbles at all if screen bottom is submerged and have some angle (not completely vertical ). If return pump is too powerful , then some bubbles are possible though (but you dont want that - do you?). I also have acrylics sheet under my screen. That can be helping eliminate bubbles.

    Thanks, simpler the better.

It's possible with enough flow and I had thought to either add a sponge on the pump intake or a false bottom depending on the severity.

Good info and I don't want bubbles nor excessive noise. Have you any pics of your setup?

The bubble remover should be under-over-under.

Looks good, I've incorporated the bubble remover into the design. I've kept the heater upright with-in it's own compartment as I think it's easier to adjust and provides added water capacity.

    What you think?
