what do you guys think about this working with an algae scrubber

its a new product develope by australians its called the water cleanser.

    The Water Cleanser Inventor
The Water Cleanser was invented in 2000 by Robert Morgan at Blue Lagoon Pearls, a pearl farm at Monkey Mia, W.A.

Robert some years before had invented anty fouling systems for live pearl shell and whilst researching the anty fouling properties of hydrocarbons he discovered that contained hydrocarbons in wax kept water clean with higher oxygen levels. What he had discovered was that hydrocarbons contained in wax don’t leach into the water but they allow dormant oil eating microbes to feed on hydrocarbons to survive and breed large numbers and their main food source becomes organic waste and they eat that organic waste more effectually with burning half the oxygen than normal bacteria

What he had discovered at this stage was good but there was many problems and after several years of research he discovered that for oil eating microbes to survive and be highly efferent they need a large mix of many different hydrocarbons, a bit like we can’t survive on one vitamin alone we need a bit of each to be healthy. Once we got this mix right our research got exciting with amazing results with all water sources we tried our product on.

Worldwide Patents applied for and trough the research stages a new company was formed to cater for our inhibiter pearl shell products that Robert had developed called Marine Easy Clean which we also used as the company for producing and selling The Water Cleanser. In the middle of 2009 the first Water Cleanser products where ready for sale in stores.

The Water Cleanser has seen keeping your pond or fish tank water clear and healthy much easier by using more effect bacteria. Everyone knows you have a pond, fish tank or pool is for pleasure, so why not make looking after it easier?

Marine Easy Clean has been working on their water quality control products since 2000, putting allot of research into the benefits of the Water Cleanser product. Many of the tests are available through this website. Our studies into raw natural products that hold water cleaning properties have led to our first products going on the market in May 2009.

Currently the Water Cleanser product is on the market for Fish Tanks, Ponds, pools, water features, Dams and Canals.

The Water Cleanser is available industrial uses, so if you have any enquiries about how this product may be of benefit to you, please contact Marine Easy Clean for more information

    How does it work?
Organic waste of all forms is the main reason for water fouling, and in its normal breakdown process it provides a food source for algae to bloom. The Water Cleanser acts as a catalyst in the anaerobic breakdown of organic waste.

There are microorganisms (bacteria) everywhere called OEM’s (Oil Eating Microbes). Marine Easy Clean has discovered that these microbes eat organic waste faster and more efficiently than any other bacteria and they do this whilst using half the amount of oxygen unassisted bacteria require. The problem with OEM’s is they can’t survive on organic waste alone, they gain energy and tissue-building material from ingesting hydrocarbons so they require a source of certain hydrocarbons to survive in large numbers. The Water Cleanser is that source but it does this without releasing any hydrocarbons into the water. So for the best results you need to place the block where the water flow is strongest which allows these bacteria to gain the nutrients they require to survive and keep your water clean and healthy.

Sounds similar (but not identical) to Dr. Tim's Waste Away.

Waste-Away is a unique combination of bacteria that attack and dissolve organic wastes in the aquarium quickly.

I just tried to order one to put into a 225g Cichlid tank that is way overstocked. The owner maintains this tank by doing 50% PWCs weekly, but I don't think he keeps up on it very well.
Anyways their website doesn't jive with online ordering right now so I e-mailed them and they said they would call me to get the order placed, but would be nice to just buy from a Us source...
