    Installing fittings into plastic container

    Hello All,

So I've already built one scrubber for my 180 gallon system that has a sump. I have 2 more tanks and a biocube that I need scrubbers for. None of which has a sump, so my next scrubbers will have to be in a separate container with a exit hole fitted at bottom that connects to tubing.

I've gone through a couple walmart clear plastic bins but, I can't seem to get the pvc fittings water tight. I've tried hole saws, utility knives(awful), and torching them in, which has yielded the best results so far. I then seal them aquarium silicone sealant. I was finally able to get one completely sealed but, I figured there are better ways.

I bet my problem is that I'm using the wrong type of fitting. But, in your experience what has been the best way to create leak proof holes in plastic containers?

    thanks!

I use a whole saw or a dremmel very slowly.. then a bulkhead seals the job.
