    Quick question about splashing......

    Hey guys,

I just have a quick question........ Beside splashing or what have you, does the bottom of the screen have to be submerged? I currently use a waterfall setup that is working really well without the bottom of the screen being submerged. I'm just wondering if the bottom being submerged helps in growth or something? Any input would be great!

I'm glad to hear I'm not missing out on better growth. I'm currently building a new led scrubber similar to floyds but with a 10X10 screen. Like my other scrubber, because the screen is pretty large, it makes mores sense to me to just leave the bottom open and drain over my sump so I can maximize water flow without worrying about a drain clogging. Also, I feel like the water draping off the bottom of the screen above the water line helps with aeration.
