    Scrubber Update 01/19/2013

Algae scrubber is doing nicely. This time I waited about 10 days to allow the growth to get nice and thick. You can see the mounding areas. I am also bumping up the lights to 8.5 hrs. DT algae is almost in a steady state, I only notice some growth from the hair algae. As I increase the scrubber's hours, I hope to see some better out-competing.

The scrubber + light combo created a sauna in my sump. I had to install a small 12V DC fan for ventilation. Now my tank evaporates almost a gallon a day. Previously my ATO consisted of a 2-gal jug with an IV drip line. I can no longer keep it calibrated effectively.

Yesterday I installed a Tunze Osmolator. No more salinity worries! But I have to make more RO/DI :-(
