You'd have to cut off both edges of the HOG.5 to get it to fit, which means the magnets would have to be moved. Not easy to do. Suction cup would work but would need to be on the top and bottom which would be hard to get to. The case is not needed, so you can build your own but this will grow all over.It is actually only 4 9/16” wide
Do not need to increase feeding.
Algae consumes nutrients 24 hours a day.
Will need bubbles to work.

I'd recommend the kit, or DIY.
