    Too Much flow?

Is that possible? I have a mag 9 return pump on my waterfall design. Comes from the overflow box directly to the sump. My question is for a 8x8 sheet..is that too much? I am getting greener growth after i switched to a double sided and stronger lights...but still have a bad hair algae issue. I have 2 23 watt cfls on both sides. and feed pellets 2x a day. I clean every 2 weeks. Getting good growth but tank seems to neither improving or getting worse. Any ideas? Click image for larger version

    Measure your actual flow

You may not have enough. The pros say 35 gph per inch minimum.

Is that screen growth the most it gets?

What size is the display and how much light does it get? How old are your bulbs? I am running a mag 12 and only putting 450 gph over a 10" screen. I have about 5' of head pressure going thru two flow accelerators.

The growth you see is from 1 day .. I just cleaned it. The tank is a 120 bulbs are due for a change but this algae issue has been going on for 6 months plus... 3 months after i started to see an increase in algae i re-designed it to a double sided. I suspect flow to be an issue but i never thought of it being too less. .... makes sense though. The tank itself is on a 12hr actinic 6 hr halide.. cycle.. or close too. Perhaps a larger pump is in order?
