Limiting Nutrient Spike on HOG.5 Cleaning???

I've read of folks getting a nutrient spike when cleaning there scrubbers and having a negative reaction from corals for a couple of days especially on smaller tanks.

Any ideas how to limit this spike on my HOG.5 in my 28g. nano cube?

Could you cut the screen in half and only clean half OR leave some algae on when cleaning OR scrape the front of the screen with a card but not the back to clean, etc??????

Yeah just scrape 1/2 of the screen at a time.
