    algae scrubber for xl tanks?

Hi i am trying to figure out a good way to make a scrubber that can be used for a 600gal set up without taking up the whole room 60"x60" seems out of place. any suggestions on how to do this? i have been looking through and have seen some outside set ups but where im located it gets way to cold to try and take it outside. this is for freshwater also.

    1 lb = 448 grams = 150 cubes = 150 total real fluorescent watts = 75 total LED watts

150 cubes = 150 square inches, so a good setup would be 3 screens of 50 square inches, each screen with 25 total LED watts (12 on each side, etc). The 12 LED watts on each side could be four 3w red stars, or 3 reds and 1 blue.

Alternate the screens and clean one each 5 days.

Great so I went from 1 60"x60" to 3 50x50s. What about 5 30s? Trying to stay a little more narrow. On the LEDs I have not done yet but how hard is a DIY set and what do you think the cost of them will end up?

    Three 7 X 7

You might want to start with CFL floodlights then.

7x7 is 49 square inches of screen. Three of these would roughly equal your planned feeding, which is what SM was referring to as three 50 square inch screens.

Yes I was thinking it was getting a little out of control lol I was thinking a 7x7" equaled 7" squared but that did not sound right at all. Thank you for the reassurance. Will probably do 3 10x10" as I will be up to 2lbs in the next few months but also tying in another 300gal to the main system.
