Cycling A New Tank With A Algae Turf Scrubber

Fairly new to the ATS system. Have a scrubber going in a new 20 gallon saltwater tank. Scrubber has a seeded screen from another scrubber in it. My question is do I leave the scrubber lights on while I am cycling the tank? If not what are your thoughts on time to run my scrubber lights. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

If you don't run the lights in the scrubber I think that the algae will die.

Santa Monica, I am doing the same on a new tank, do I need to seed the screen, or will the turf algae grow on it own. I have a HOG 1 ATS, & mostly Marco dry rock, & 1 small Live rock (for seeding).

Scrubbers will always grow on their own, with no seeding needed. However they won't grow much until you start feeding.
