Just about anything..
A cork stuffed in tightly.
A wooden dowel.
A cap from PVC or CPVC that fits tightly into the hose.
Any piece of plastic or acrylic rod.
Don't forget to rough up your screen. And, you should use several layers as the material screen is made of has a horrible surface energy that makes it hard for algae to adhere to it - even roughed up. Multiple layers lets the algae grow into the layers so it can hang on better.
HI , OK THANKS.. i read that, yes,
what size sand paper shall i use , and how many layers should i have ???
J
Two or three layers.
And you want the coarsest scratching you can possibly manage. Like the steel teeth of a hole saw scraped across the screen.
