    Experimental upflow scrubber

So i've been running an upflow of sorts that has been working well for me but have a couple of ideas i want to try and see if i can better what i already have...

This is my first effort - i'm limited by the very small sump chambers in the back of my nano which are only about 15cm x 8cm and 30cm deep.

I have attached for pieces of egg crate to form a square, these have roughed up canvas attached to them. I have a mj1200 with a hydor flo blowing upwards over the screens and a kessil pointed straight down. I'm thinking the problem with this might be light penetrating down through the water to the lower parts of the screens....the chamber looks very bright though so we will see.

Anyway, here are the pics and i will update with progress over the next few weeks.

If there are bubbles it will work. If no bubbles, it will grow only at the surface.

Got anymore pics of the setup etc? Interested to see more of that, not quite how it works though! I abandoned the scrubber in this thread as it didn't work, currently trying a version similar to my old one that appears to be working very well so far.
