    greengrabber vs crushed live rock?

    hey
Im on the way back to this forum with a new 360liters tank...
the new floating scrubber is very impressive and I will try to make a scrubber that is placed about 3cm under water and lots of watermovement and air bubbles arround it...

indstead of the greengrabber stuff I will cover the sides of the box with crushed live rock and small koral pieces... would you guys think this will work?

Should be fine. Strings are important too.

    Nylon string works well.

Hey SM, What is currently used for the grabber? I think I read it is crushed quartz? I'm thinking to make with 2-5mm course crushed quartz. I'm also thinking to make with crushed glass which is a little cheaper. Though very sharp, what are your thoughts on crushed glass?

All of that works well. Algae uses enzymes to bore into natural silica rock on the beach and reefs, in order to get a strong hold during the waves. So the algae naturally knows what to do with anything silica.

    Not so with plastic.
