water movement in/out the HOG.5 too slow

    hi

got a HOG.5 for a while, but i find the speed of aglae growth inside the HOG.5 is too slow. now most rocks/sands have algae over them. they are growing faster than inside the HOG.5

led on for 16hrs then off 8hrs

i think the problem is water movement going in and out by air bubble is not enough. i'm thinking of attach a smallest water pump i could find to bottom of HOG.5 (will drill a hole for it)

    will it help?

    thanks

Pump will not help. Need a pic of the screen before cleaning.

Make sure there are strong bubbles, and the holes are not clogged.

why the pump will not help?

i'm not expert with air and water lol

but the location of the bubbles are far right of the hog.5. so how does air bubbles 'move' water in and out of the hog.5. if the bubbles are in middle (above the small holes) then yeah.

Well that was easy. You have almost no bubbles on the screen. Tuck the tabs, and tilt the unit, so the bubbles will spread out and be in the middle. More air would help too.
