    My Surf2 UAS So Far

Just wanted to post some pics of my Surf2 progress so far to see if anyone has any suggestions.

    Some background first...
My tank system is 1 year old and consists of 125gal DT FOWLR setup, DSB fuge with a very small amount of chaeto
and sump with LR that used to hold a skimmer. Skimmer has been out for nine months. The bulk of the chaeto was taken out when Surf2 was installed.
Did not want them competing. There is no other filtration on my system. I feed a 1/2 a cube per day and a 2"x2" piece of nori twice a week.
I would like to increase the cube amount to 1 per day once the Surf2 gets going well.

    Ammonia 0
    Nitrite 0
    Nitrate 25
    Ph 7.9
    Phosphate .25
    Temp 79F

The first pic is at 1 week old with the light on/off duration at 18/6. At this point I increased the light duration to 20/4.
Second pic is at 2 weeks (today). I will probably increase the lighting to 22/2. Any suggestions?

    Week 2

I plan to update this thread with pics and test results (as many have asked for) to chronicle the scrubbers effects on my system.

    Welcome.

Looks like a great start. Try 14 days now.

I am letting it go 14 days as you suggested SantaMonica, but here is a pic at the 3 week mark.

I increased the light cycle to 22/2 as I said. The growth is much greener but not much on the strings. I will probably be able to harvest some at the end of week 4. Will keep posted.

Not harvestable yet. But algae growth is continuing. Algae in the Surf2 is about 1/2" long and very thick. I was surprised by the fluffy rather than slimy feel to it.

    Light cycle continues at 22/2.

    Better!

And new info: Growth that is green but is not getting thicker might be due to pods eating. So some FW should be used.
