    halagen work lights

I have read and read (pretty sure every page on ATS over the past 2 months) to the point I couldn't for sure if I read of anyone using 150w or 300w portable work lights, so I'm posting the question to find out if they will work for an ATS?
    Thanks for your replies

They make to much heat for one and use up a ton of energy and the spectrum is not quit right. I am sure you would get some kind of growth but I dont see it being feasible or efficient in any way.

The only portable work lights you would want are CFL or LED.

    Thanks for the reply
I'm still unsure as I am just starting to build it is there something on the package that I should look for to help narrow it down?

Sorry forgot to add I'm not even sure on the size I need as my tank is not set up yet
I'm going with a 55 gal fowlr haven't even made up my mind on a stocking list so don't know how big I need
My box for it is 17x17" so I can make my screen larger if the need arises, I was thinking of starting with 6 x6 screen with a 600 GPm pump

6 X 6" is a good start since it will allow a small spotlight on each side. Or a little taller, so you can use a droplight like these:

And here are some LED spotlight options:

I like the 6x6 on my 40G, it keeps up with no issues at all and about 1.5" is in the water so it not using all of it either.
