    Hog 1 Help

Hi, I've recently started my marine set up (120 litres).

It's been running for about 4 weeks and I've seen no growth in the Hog.

Lights have been on for 12 hours per day and the cloth kept over it. I've now had a pretty bad outbreak of what I believe is green Cyanobacteria.

Should the Hog be using the nutrients the Cyanobacteria would need to grow? Do you have any recommendations to combat the outbreak and get the Hog up and running please?

I'm not using a protein skimmer as I believed that it would not be needed with a scrubber.

    Thanks

    Welcome from the UK.

The cloth has been on only part of the LEDs, so that part of it is uncovered, correct?

Hi...no I've had it all covered as per the label on the cloth. Should it only be half?

Yes I had to re-word the paper to say partly cover, not fully cover. So pull the cover down 2" and run for 18 hours and it should start coloring up in a week.

Ok so I've done what you advised above for just over a week now.

Please see the progress below. What do you think

Are you sure the light is on at all?

A pic of it installed would help.

Where is the cloth? It should be covering 3/4 of the lights.
